Butter London - Blowing Raspberries

I love Butter London polishes. My first one was British racing green which I need to repurchase since I used that one up. But back to the topic because this post is about Blowing Raspberries.

This is a lovely true raspberrie color, kind of red, kind of pink. Lovely combination. And like most Butter London polishes that I've tried the formula is really great.

I needed two coats for this beauty.

I tend to wear this kind of color in fall and winter but to be honest I think it would be lovely all year round. If I did'nt have so many polishes...

China Glaze - At vase value

This one is a beauty! A light pastell blue but also bright and happy. I love At vase value.

For this picture I had to shake up the bottle because mine is half empty. And with over 200 nailpolishes this is a statement, isn't it?

As a pastell polish at vase value is chalky. I usually use 3 coats but the result is so worth it! Did I already mention that I love this polish?

Sally Hansen - Leaf me be

I'm always jealous to see Sally Hansen polishes on American blogs. The variety!!! You can get Sally Hansen in stores here in Germany but the only ones I find are the miracle gels and some other in the same bottle. Where are the small fun ones? I want those too!

Today I'm talking about Leaf me be. I picked it up in a sale with some other colors because I love green. And then I put it in my storage and never used it. Mistake! This is a military green that looks soooo good (on me at least).

I love the tone of green! And it applied like a dream, two really easy coats. I promise you my little beauty that I'm going to wear the heck out of you in next fall!

China Glaze - Lavenduh!

This is one of my newer polishes, I bought it for this spring. You can't have enough spring polishes, can you?

This is a nice bright pastelly purple-lavender color. As the name says. The formula is nice so I needed 2 coats for my swatch. Don't be alarmed if the first coat isn't that opaque because a thicker second coat will correct that. And it isn't chalky at all which I find really refreshing for a pastell polish.

So overall a really nice color, I can see me wearing this in the summer as well because of the underlying brightness.

Essie - Island hopping

I received Essie's Island hopping in an adventcalender a few years ago and instantly thought I would have never picked this polish for myself. Not sure if this is still true but I enjoy wearing it from time to time now.

The color is a muted purple with lots of grey in it. I consider this still to be a neutral because it's not too dark or too light or too bright. I like wearing it on my toes in winter, it's a perfect polish for that time of the year.

So, not my favorite color but I nice polish to have. The formula is nice, two coats for full opacity. And I think it would look great with some glitter on top, maybe I need to try this!

Manhattan - Magnetic Blue

I love blue nailpolishes. Manhattan's Magnetic blue is dark but still bright. And jellyish. Great combo.

The formula is quite good but because of the jellyish-finish I need 2-3 coats depending on my application skills. Which can vary from finger to finger.

Blue can be hard to capture in pictures so these pictures look way more purple than my nails look in real life. But you can see how squishy it looks... nice, isn't it?

China Glaze - Grass is lime greener

Another China Glaze polish. This one is a keeper, lovely bright light green for spring and summer. And if you like the grinch, winter as well.

This color is just stunning, the formula is acceptable. I need 3 coats because it gets patchy really easy so you might want to take your time applying it. But the result is worth the effort.

It looks so bright and happy, can't wait to wear it with a tan!

Manhattan - Candlelight Dinner

Manhattan is a lovely nailpolish brand which is so affordable. One of my favorite classic Manhattan polishes is Candlelight Dinner.

On the pictures it looks way more red than in person. Sadly I wasn't able to capture the real beauty of this polish.

So onto describing: First of, if you have the option to buy it in stores, take a look at it. It seems boring but for everyone wanting a beautiful (fallish) saturated but still bright purpley-light-burgundy-something, this is it. Really nice formula and 2 coats give a squishy look. Love it!

Essie - Check your baggage

I'm on the hunt for a happy sunny yellow creme nailpolish. So Check Your Baggage from Essies Flying Solo Collection caught my eye.

In the bottle it really looks like a match for my wants. But sadly on the nails, especially indoors, it darkens quite a bit and looks more like a light yellowish orange.

The first picture is inside the other picture in direct light (without sunshine). Still it is a pretty color just not what I was expecting. The formular is great, 2 medium coats are enough for a perfect application.

So the search goes on...

OPI - My Chihuahua Doesn't Bite Anymore

I love so many polishes of the OPI Mexico City Collection but OPIs are so expensive in Germany that I limited myself to one polish. And it's my chihuahua doesn't bite anymore.

I don't own My chihuahua bites but I'm a sucker for orangey-reds so I had to have this one.

The formula on this creme polish is quite good to work with but a little bit sheerer as I expected. I needed one thin and one thicker coat to get the opacity I wanted. But still, easy to work with.

I love this kind of orange which is bright but kind of red and it looks classy (at least on a redhead like myself).OPI makes fantastic polishes and if they weren't like 16€ I would for sure shop their entire collections.

China Glaze - For Audrey

Here is an absolut classic: China Glaze - For Audrey. This polish is a tiffany-turqouise-blue-whatever creme.

I think this is a wonderful colour for winter and spring. It's a pop of colour but not too bright. The formula is good so I usually wear 2 coats.

This is a staple in my collection and I have quite a few colours in this colour family.

Essie - Unwrap me

After wanting to buy everything from Essie's spring collection 2019 I just picked up one polish from spring collection 2020. Unwrap me is a magenta metallic color with the nice bottle cover like Essie did in 2019. Not a thing I would buy a polish for but it looks nice for sure.

Unwrap me applies like a normal metallic polish, a few visible brushstrokes but they vanished by the time the polish was dry. And of course as a metallic polish, it dries quickly.

Now that I look at the picture I should have tried it with a matte topcoat as well. I will for sure in the future. Also as a side note: I think it looks stunning as a pedicure in spring. Not gonna show pictures of it because... feet.

I used two coats with top- and basecoat.

Catrice - Nap Green

Catrice is my favorite drugstore brand (widely available here in Germany) for nailpolishes. I love their bristles and the formula is often absolutely beautiful. So since they came out with a few new polishes I needed to take a look at them. One of the ones I picked up is Nap Green.

This is a soft pastel minty-green. I have a few of these in my collection but I have to say this one has the best formula! By far!

Yes you need two coats. But with two (easy) coats it's fully opaque and non-streaky! Love this. SO MUCH!

ANNY - autumn in the city

I bought a few polishes of the kiss my pumpkin collection from ANNY last fall. Autumn in the city is one of them. This is a lovely dark purplish grey with bronze-sheen.

I didn't shake the polish up because you can see the purple on the neck of the bottle and the shimmer quite clearly in this picture.

I'm wearing two coats plus base- and topcoat. This polish is really easy to apply and just as easy to take off.

Autumn in the city is really flattering on my nails and I love the shimmer that becomes visible in sunlight. One of my favorite polishes to wear in fall 2019.

Cadillacquer - Darling, red isn't your color

I love seeing pictures of indie polishes but when I wear them I'm quite often disappointed. This is one of the ones I like (but not love).

Darling, red isn't your color is a quote from 101 Dalmatians and the polish is a sheer white crelly with matte small black dots and even smaller red sparkles.

You can see I used quite a lot of it but this is also due to the fact that I need 3 medium-thick layers to have the color cover my yellowish stained nails. I think it would look more delicate on someone who doesn't wear dark and bright nailpolish that often.

As I already said, I'm wearing three coats plus base- and topcoat. You can still see my VNL well but I think this is intentional for a crelly.

I like it, it looks fun but I think I just might not be into crellies. Sadly, because on other people I really enjoy looking at them.

China Glaze - Hey Sailor

So I'm starting my not so small China Glaze Collection with Hey Sailor from the Anchores Away collection. The collection was released in spring 2011. Yep, quite a while ago. Hey Sailor is a bright classic red which is described as pin-up red. That's pretty accurate since it's a slightly cool leaning red and as I said, it is BRIGHT!

Since China Glaze has their formula for reds down this is a dream to put on your nails. Smooth application and with short nails for sure a one-coater.

I used two coats with Base- and Topcoat and felt like a 50s girl. It really stands out and if you enjoy a good bright red this is one to catch.

OPI - Tile Art to Warm Your Heart

This is one of my polishes I have sentimental memories about. I'm not the only one with such a relationship to nailpolish, am I?

I've been to Lisabon with my boyfriend in 2018 and this polish always reminds me of this wonderful week. OPI describes this color as mosaic blue and I think this is spot on.

I'm wearing two coats with Base- and Topcoat. The formula is really easy to work with and I love the OPI brushes because the wide brush makes it easy to apply the polish in just three strokes.

This is a really lovely bright blue. Since blue is one of my favorite colors to wear on my nails I do have quite a few blue polishes but this is my favorite. And I think even without the Lisabon memories it would be.
